Has anyone tried Wu-Yi tea or Wulong tea for weight loss?

I’m thinking about trying it for weight loss…is it a gimmick? Serious answers only please from people who’ve tried it…

It’s no miracle, but it does help your metabolism a bit. I have used it off and on for a few months, and I’d say on the order of maybe 50 to 100 calories a day, if you’re drinking two to three cups. I have heard reports of as much as 300 calories per day (an extra 2/3 of a pound a week) but that is with 6 or 8 cups per day. Just be sure to drink it straight, without any added sugar- it’s best hot with perhaps lemon & Sweet n Low.

There is really no substitute for diet & exercise, but Wulong tea (or Oolong) does have positive health benefits. It’s relaxing, it definitely helps clear up any skin problems, and is chock full of antioxidants. I wouldn’t bother buying the fancy advertised one, though- go to your local Chinese grocery store and they’ll have it for 1/3 of the price or less.
