It depends what you want to do with it. If you just want to do office work like word processing that’d probably be fine for you. But it’ll show its age even on simple internet pages now so don’t plan on anything more exciting than 10 year old games or Microsoft Word. Also don’t pay more than $200 for that.

If you want something a little newer check out www.tigerdirect.com, www.newegg.com, or check out your local colleges. I used to go to an aftermarket parts show at my local community college and pick up used stuff for cheap.
